War in the East

Rockets falling on a village
War has plagued the East
Kinship the most noble calling
Hatred is the least

Children clinging to a mother
Hiding in hole
Innocence the dearest victim
Death the dearest toll

Flames destroy the schools and markets
As the rockets burst
Hunger is a woeful diet
Terror is the worst

Clouds of smoke engulf a city
Blue turns into gray
War has marred God’s lovely planet
Cease the war today

Hatred is the guilty culprit
Camouflaged in gray
Dignity the greatest victor
Peace, the only way

Fact, yet saddly fiction, thank you, for a power read, i sense your feelings and feel that they echo the masses, yet the masses, remain silent and if we see a wrong, this wrong and do nothing about it, well, what are we other than moral cowards?? also a coward, thanks again

Amen!  Liz, from my heart to yours, this was indeed a generous offering to PIP today.
Thank you for your caring soul.

Your words elequently describe the horrors of these wars.  Heartache and prayers continue for the day "arms" means only human hugs.

Dear Elizabeth, Your poem was heart felt all sane people want peace. But Plato's quote says it all.

Only the dead know the end of war
