No More

Each day brings a brighter light
with switch that's staying on.
I weep no more for what has been,
instead look towards the dawn.

Loneliness is made of dark,
of shadows in the wake.
Aloneness is acceptance of
what is and hold its take.

I do not fantasize for wants.
With open eyes, I weed
the hope among the thorns of time
and process only need.

"If onlys" boundaried from the past,
have holes that leaked the tears.
The treasured of my future days
shall live among the fears.

For fears bring strength, "the go ahead",
"the making do", besides.
This year has been and will again
lengthen mine, each stride.

Time has lost the best of me,
for age has crept its will.
But I have plenty stored within
those tears, no more to spill.

Maureen, this has so much positive advice.
We do grow from our trials, it seems.

Hope all is well with you.
Hugs,

Maureen

"Time has lost the best of me,
for age has crept its will."

I have a feeling that "the best is yet to come".....I already see it in this poem!

Ethel and Martie, "things" are looking up for me...slowly but surely...now if only this heat of summer would move to another part of the world~~~

Thanks

Yes, our fears do indeed give us strength. If we did not have fears, trifals, or any of that, how could we tell the difference between dawn and dusk? Nice write.
