conversations can be played through minds but cannot replace the real words spoken into ears just days before. pictures can be hung on walls but will never match the happiness felt when their captured faces stood in flesh and blood on the floor locked tight in arms that kept them held securely in instead of turning them away. for once my face was burried in a shoulder due to a smile so deep i had to hide my head, not to prevent the feeling from an expression but rather to press it against you as best i could to make sure i left an imprint hot on your heart and deep in your mind. i guess i miss you even when you're here an absence of the future brings a sadness to the moment because i can't imagine letting go or seeing you walk away even if i'm sure you'll pick me back up as soon as you can. the tears i cry from you are better than the smiles i flash for anyone else and when the answers can't be given your whispers of uncertainty pacify my gasps for air because i know you won't let me question this alone. even your silences speak the world to me and i wish i could show you the inside of everything wonderful i've ever felt and always wanted and will forever need. the only problem is i guess it'd be hard for you to look into your own eyes. Some real depth underlying this; my favourite lines were: "i guess i miss you even when you're here/an absence of the future" Beautiful and poignant. They aren't flaps; they're my face! |
