Aloft you watch a doomed race, lurching towards their inevitable final fate. For now you scrape heaven's ceiling, aeroplaning through clouds, you will still be here when man has gone; unable to flee on wonderous wings. All of it yours again,Lords and Masters of the sky, a golden kingdom will be yours, a throne of amber sunlight your view of natures golden age, fearless freedom. |

Good poem. I was flying with those swifts when I was reading this... Ben “We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” –Robert Louis Stevenson |

I cannot imagine how this poem, good as it is, slid to the bottom of a page with but two replies. Up it goes, sir, because it deserves to be read! |
