Kept In Hiding The clouds cape sunset in mysterious color schemes Cooling comes with the winds, drink for the delicate grass Settled down among them, I too am watered The vernacular of nature’s cues, and coos Billow forth without resentment or ferocity Miming the feelings that float inside this weather worn purse Where I collect and store safely the parts I left out Letting them grow and deepen, ripening to sweetness Too, are thirsty for a taste of rain, relishing the same Each, donned candy stripe, to melt upon the tongue How could I tell you, you have been the only one? Or all I want, especially in views of orchid June Or the white dress that hung in my cedar mind It never seemed to be a conversation had in time But when we spoke, I held the reign’s emotions choke Although you knew that I loved only you Copyright Kkh 7/24/06 |
