(Written in 1990) To me, it's my child To you, it's a shame You've yet understood That we're truly the same Their beautiful faces I see every day The flawless brown skin The suns golden ray The curly dark hair As soft as a lamb You think I'm not happy I tell you I am I wouldn't trade them For what 'you' think is right I'd rather sing lullabyes And kiss them goodnight I hear from the media That acceptance is growing Yet so many stay blind And ignorant...not knowing Just the gift of a child No matter the shade Has to be the best creation That Gods ever made |

Seems to me, Tina, you've got a universal poem right here... I hope you've submitted it to the proper magazines. It is time, in this world to accept our responsibilities... even if only by love. |
