Open To Your Eyes The weathering of ways as rain Making supple the thick skin of dormant souls I breathe in rhythm with the earth Thinking over a collection of drops Peeling back successive layers of doubt Until all movement stops Transparent as the wind to those that cannot see But I know the sound of my own heart Feel the course in my own veins Timeless, falls the shawls of momentary fears Pattering vibration falls upon my ears Bereft of sound And then, as if the sunrise after Another look into your timid heart brings laughter At myself, I chime inside, appreciating more Of what the fates may have in store Though din, the clarity in rains sweet mockery As stand this ground I will Looking still As if Copyright Kkh 7/11/06 |
