dancing 'neath the moon

I am

Magnificent

I am soft sensuality

The uncontainable mist
whirling, twirling
seductively
through the dreams of sleeping men

I am what you ache to hold
if only for a frozen moment
in time

I am your fantasy
Your reality

The object of your desire
Subjected to your lust

Inconceivably beautiful
Coveted beyond comprehension

I am eye candy
mind candy

I am vanilla drops
In chocolate skies

Marshmallow clouds
Over coconut beaches

The drink of life
For a parched throat

I am a cloud on your tongue
to be savored fleetingly

I am poetry in motion

I am the tears of ink
flowing from the poet's quill

I am written in indelible ink
on the pages of the universe

I wax poetic

I am of inhuman strength
and boundless love

I have been probed
stretched
achingly open
for, I am the bearer of children

I am independently needful

I am the cry in the dark
The protector to be protected

I am the helpless prey
and the sly hunter

I am intelligent
intellectual
philosophical

I am cultured,
refined,
wanton
brazen
An exquisitely cut diamond
with rough edges

I am a face with many names
A name with many faces

I am an enigma

I am Woman

I am

Magnificent

So very true. Brava for a feminist piece without the all-too-common attacking undertones.

thanks for reading
though, it's not so much a "feminist" piece, as just feminine.  I don't believe that men are our problem, as women.  I believe we are our own problem -- and sometimes we just need a reminder of how wonderfully beautiful we are, no matter what kind of package we come in. We need to believe in ourselves regardless of what the media, which is comprised of men and women, may think of us.

Wonderfully done Sheli... feminine or feminist, it holds true.

I agree you are magnificant!  I love your poetry and I love you -- You are magnificant and I am sublime perfection and ... well, the rest is left for another thread in another place.
