I can hear the thunder roaring as I’m lying in my bed I can’t sleep because the warring that goes on around I can see the endless mountains that are stretching far and wide I can’t climb their frigged peek for it’s too tall for me to reach my sullen pride I’d rather falter as I’m climbing than to reach the top alive fouled by foolish pride And to never understand Too much hard times I find them in the days without friendship or family And yonder I hear the trees they whisper words to me they say they’re dying And as I clamor to set free my mother who is sad for all the pain I pushed on her Says its better safe than to be sorry and I realize how late my actions are It’s a funny thing belief so strong without relief at all for anyone But you can never see you’re blinded by deceit that fills your eyes with hoping And in days that come and go you will never know that you are dying Your understanding in belief is that our human race will never end But all races have a start and finish line my friend And so you must accept that this race is sure to cross that line with time So come along with me and we will cross a sea The endless waters that are poisoned will be revived once again And in our times of sloth incompetence we ride for nothing And standing on a beach we watch the tide sink in until it’s gone away Never to return like the ambulance Too true is that this governed land of sin was once with god But its now on the side of a devil of neglectful pokes and prods That lead us to an endless dawn Our mothers taught us well but our fathers taught us nothing And so now we only have but a fear of what is strong And a tendency to see an evil but submitting to its grasp Oh no what will show when the children have learned absolutely nothing? Watching on TV a joking man is mocking what is serious And they laugh and they joke as if they understand the world is not crying But the children of the home do not seem to grow or know the earth at all Oh what a generation to be living in because we’re not at all |
