Secrets There are certain things about one Which can present hidden detail The way one might write words The way one reads into words Says nothing, yet sings a melody Happily yet socially non-seneschal Uttering words of calamity standing naked Under a one hundred year old oak tree All the while whispering a sweet tune With each word blending into a humid air Clinging onto a burnished sunset… Some certain things are best felt Not thought about, or questioned As the tail of a kite, the words are there Useful words, but only to hold the kite Straight in its flight, all the while The kite being strung by a guiding hand Hand and line protecting it from a heavy wind And its own careless upward travel… Those are the things best left alone Heard, felt, spoken of To no one Secrets… __________________________________________ Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: |

I like your secrets. I also like poets who make me search out words. Once again, you complied with my needs. Thank you. |

all that you have described here is truly profound, and I wish I could be more secretive, but cannot...I've gotta spill the beans and mysterious I am not...but...that said...love your lesson for the day....brilliant and most wise... |

JL,I like them words. Are you a Scorpio? Man of private thoughts? Wish I could be mysterious too. But I tend to be like LeeJ. |

"Some certain things are best felt Not thought about, or questioned" Enjoyed the read, JL, and how right you are with the above words. And that upward wind - how like freewill that takes us away until the "guiding hand" ... takes a hand! |

had to come back for another read, I felt my character needed it...made me think about how if I were living back during the time of witch burning, I would be nothing but ashes... enjoyed |

Smiling at Ms. LeeJ... This was wonderful JL...to be a private person in this age of non-privacy is a feat, but the image of the kite made clear the secrets so well kept. What a wonderful thing to explore in another human being! TD |

JL...Great write. It was hard for me to pick out a favorite line, but the ones below tells me much about you and myself...Paul There are certain things about one Which can present hidden detail The way one might write words The way one reads into words Says nothing, yet sings a melody Happily yet socially non-seneschal Uttering words of calamity standing naked Under a one hundred year old oak tree All the while whispering a sweet tune With each word blending into a humid air Clinging onto a burnished sunset… ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |
