CONFLUENCE 17 August 1986 There, where I am most alone, in sun-proof forests, in rock-wet kloofs and in the silence of my mind, I cannot shut you out and so your thoughts flow into mine. Like ever-calling streams, they meet and mingle and rejoice, ever apart and ever one. They share again what they always shall. - Owl |

I haven't forgotten you my Owl friend. Your words are always soothing to my soul--and I wish I could do you justice in reply, as I am grateful for all of your words, both in your works, and your gracious and thoughtful replies, which at times, are poems in themselves. A very lovely Owl you be. |

Well, Serenity Blaze, if this isn't doing me far more than justice, I don't know what is! You are very kind, and you always make me feel appreciated. I certainly don't feel forgotten by you, nor do I think that you would ever allow any of your friends to feel that way. I am very happy that my words are soothing to the soul of so great a poet as you. - Owl |

Oh, Earth Angel, I am so glad I came aboard the Pip ship toooooooo! You are very kind about my poetry and me. I don't know if I am worthy of what you say, but I nevertheless feel very honoured by your thoughts. I must admit, that no matter what sadness and troubles pervade my days, my enthusiasm for life and beauty and optimisim is difficult to suppress for long. You are such an integral part of the happiness that is spread in Pip and I enjoy your poetry very much too. - Owl |

Ed learns a wonderful new word! Kloof! kloof Pronunciation Key (klf) n. South African A deep ravine. [Afrikaans, from Middle Dutch clove, cleft, ravine. See gleubh- in Indo-European Roots.] The very atmosphere of this poem....I love the way you blend images! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Thanks, Ratleader. I love that you looked up "kloof" and immersed yourself in part of what makes up my beautiful country, in the process. Thank you for enjoying my poem. This and the last few are all about the guy in "Hope". Reliving old memories. My son bumped into him a few months ago. Thank you miscellanea. I love how you lived yourself into my poem. Thank you Katerie. Being reasonably new myself, I don't know whether you are new, or have returned after an absence. If it is the former, Welcome to Pip. It is a wonderful place to be, as everybody will affirm. RedstoneEB, I am fascinated and honoured that I have a link to such an old and exciting culture that I know very little about. You are making me very eager to learn Chinese (unfortunately, it isn’t going to happen as I have a minus quantity of time). I wrote a poem (I think I have posted it here) about the fascination of the Japanese language. The poem is called Takahira Yashima Hiroyuka Tomita (the names of 2 athletes). Thanks, Martie, and thanks for the hugs! Thanks, Jody! A 10, wow! You do me a great honour. I am glad you enjoyed it so much. - Owl |

Dianna, this had such a very sereneful feeling to it, and brought me a few moments of peace when reading it. Lovely writing. I, too, am so very glad you have joined us at Pip's. Big hugs to you! |
