Gosh! Your poem was so vividly realistic that I almost felt as tho' I was at the bar listening to 'Wailing' Jennings! Warm hug and a smile, Linda |

I have no idea who or what Waylon is (a singer perhaps?), but Kate, your poem makes me feel I GOTTA LISTEN TO WAYLON! - Owl |

Thank you Page. I am sure you're full of character. Owl, Waylon Jennings is a country western singer and he sings great "she went and left me and now my heart is broken" songs. If you get a chance give him a listen. |

He's pretty good at the tear jerkers! And you are good at catching the essence of his music and style in your poem. I can almost hear him! Klassy |

I miss him, too. Him, and a few others who made country music what it was...and could continue to be. |

Nice write, Kate...I enjoyed him, too. I never was much into country music until I worked with a man in the 70s that introduced me to Waylon and all the best; he kept his radio tuned to a country channel or brought his 8-tracks to work. I found I'd been missin' something. |

Wow! I cant even begin to estimate all the times Ol' Waylon provided the soundtrack for my life. Whether through 8track, juke box, or smoke filled bars when I was playing cover tunes of his songs and trying to live them in between gigs. I can't remember the first time I heard Waylon...but as is the case with many things... "The Devil made me do it the first time. The second time I did it on my own." enjoyed this. thank you |
