Tomorrow's Way

Amongst the weeds that stall a life
the greening tends to turn one's head.
There from plantings years ago
"lovely" is the word instead...

Despite the losing of a tree,
that favorite one ( for "lover's climb")
the sun relieves suppression from
allowing these more growing time...

Their richness reigns for eyes to see,
as Springtime rises more each day
leading to a Summer's dream
of planting seeds, tomorrow's way.

Just beautiful, Maureen. Both, the poem and the picture.

Thank you, yes they are Hostas..from plantings over 30 years  ago...I  had moved some with me from my last home and then  moved them around my gardens.

A favorite tree use to be to the right of that garden wall and shaded the plants for the last 20 some years...since it died and was cut down this fall, the plants had more sunlight to grow this year. Each one is at least 4 feet across.

Love the poem and this view of your very-me garden.  If I remember correctly - and I know I do - you posted a picture of some beautiful irises fairly recently.

. . . and I am very sad for you at the loss of your tree.  I know that sadness.  However, it's time for rest had come and it will enrich the earth as it regenerates the soil - even if only a little of it was left.

I read this Naked - your posting address - not mine

I was watching Blazing Saddles and came back to read your words

Not how you would like it, but

When do we get a band

Playing to us in the desert

I'm writing this

Because I think words are good

and I am pleased

That your words are good

Yes, the picture of my irises were for a response for Martie. Years ago I did away with my front yard and side yards inside and out to make gardens instead...and a fish pond.

It's a lot of upkeep which I have fallen behind on and am working on getting them back into some sense of order.

And that tree...well it is so big and so hard in the center that no one has been able to cut the trunk parts smaller yet...without breaking their chainsaw..so I am thinking of  drilling some holes in it and planting in them and  putting an arranged pot on the center of the  trunk that is still in the ground...
