I rose in the morning while still deep in sleep
So wanting and longing the dream just to keep
I then found it easy to sleep and survey
The road that I trod till the end of the day

I went through the motions, became quite amused
When asked to give blood, I simply refused
When things got too rough, I sat with a smile
It’s funny to walk different roads for a while

There were people demanding and not very nice
I gave them my theories at least once or twice
The looks that I got made me laugh deep inside
It’s great to look on with a dream by your side

I saw the confusion go round like a storm
I watched through the day all the people perform
It was like in the theater, some acts to behold
I just couldn’t wait for the rest to unfold

The day was so fruitful that I became full
Uncovered some answers and saw through the bull
Sorted my feelings and said what I thought
Amazing the way that some lessons are taught

I did all my work with ease and delight
Till home was the image attracting my sight
I said all my goodbyes and wandered to where
The day it had started, with hours to spare

And when I arrived, I found me asleep
I’d journeyed outside while a dream I did keep
I found I had worked all the day while I slept
One dream was the journey, while duty I kept

And though you may think of this journey unreal
The dream gave me something, which comforts me still
So I hope, I dream in more daydreams to see
The many more things, quite unlikely to be

Rick...

what are you doing in my dreams?

I have some just like this...
only sometimes blood has been given...

in the most extreme, metaphorical way...

Well done Sir.  I enjoyed your unlikely very much.

Rick

You explore a lot here

The dream when you are actually doing things is a known sensation, usually a reaction to extreme stress and pain.

Often a key wakes you up but to that point you are in your own mind in a dream.

There is an acknowledged description for it.

To be able to sit back and watch almost is the difference between you in the singular and you in the plural.

Writing in the singular, it is use and one to one.

Writing in the plural, where you become an observer is how most authors write.

Trying to keep the two apart, requires immense, to my mind, mental effort.

A good set of words to think about.

Hmmm... Now, have you been joining me in my dreams or have I been joining you in yours?

I always enjoy your poetry, Dear Rick!

Sweet dreams!

Amazing how down the road a few years some of our past workdays seem like unreal dreams, too.  I really enjoyed this piece.

I hope so too - it helps to keep us sane!     Great write - enjoyed.

To you all my friends, thank you so much for reading and replying, the dream held many of you in it and the peace that writing can give, I miss the time of sharing and the time to have time to write. Life is a busy place, but was told today that life is the holiday of the dead and that we only get the chance rarely. Makes you open your eyes a little more and take count of what you have or could have. Enjoying each day and the company that comes our way is probably near most important, money is merely a tool of necessity, not the maker of happiness, yet I would not mind giving it a go at times.
I dream often, but imagination brings the story more than truth, but stepping into the mind at times comforts the soul.
I am raving; enjoyed the company of you all tonight, thanks for sharing and caring enough to reply, you are all great.

Take care and be well.

Sincerely
Rick

Sweetberry, thank you so much for your reply, not too bad a dream to have is it? Great to have you take the time to reply, very much appreciated.

Sincerely
Rick
