Given Moment

Image hosting by Photobucket

I sit in solitude, my aloneness
at any given moment, you can find me there
half alive, half sleeping
contemplating what fills the air
at any given moment.

Separated from the disciplines
from the world apart my being
by a wall I built long ago
climb and you may send me fleeing
at any given moment.

I might remain still though
and you may try to touch
but if you do, do softly
I may acknowledge I need that much
or I might just break
at any given moment.

One of your best writes, Dixiegal (mho).
Tha's a pretty powerful, emotionally charged moment you've shared with us.

Into every room a sweetly singing bird can fly and illuminate it with light..and song of beauty...it can fly over walls..just look for it..a fine poem..a sad poem...but yours unmistakably..thank you

Goldenrose.

I can fully relate to this poem, especially right now.  I am sad for you fo ryou sound like you have lost all hope.  I pray you find a way out of your darkness and are able to enjoy the sunshine and the safe touch of loving people once again.

I love your poem and agree with all of the responses so far.  Read them all and especially Goldenrose's many times and I am sure that will bring you a modicum of peace.

Such a beautiful, sensitive soul as yours deserves only the best.  I pray that you will find him, or better still, that he will find you, and that he will treat you as you deserve to be treated, knowing that you will treat him just as well.  I pray also, that in the meantime, you will find peace, then happiness and then joy even though and especially while you are still alone, for then and only then - and with the freedom that that will bring your spirit - you will heal and blossom into the "you" that you really are and that you will then be able to allow yourself to be.

Wishing you that peace, happiness, joy and freedom of spirit

Dixie - Yes, I also think this is one of your best and so "fragile" that I felt scared that my "given moment" of reading it would somehow cause it to disappear.  It didn't which just goes to show that beneath fragility is a determined strength to overcome the "whatevers" of life.

Dixie, you spoke with such a plaintive little voice, that I found myself whispering your words.

May the sun of high noon chase all the shadows away.

I have been in that lonely place but what can come out of that moment is worth the time spent there. Sometimes in your loneliest moments you find yourself and realize you're never truely alone.

Know yourself before you try to know someone else.

Dear Dixie, I can feel your moment and it hurts, the aloneness builds a wall of peace, when at times we would just like company. Resting for too long does not help, it makes us reflect more on past and what could or should have been, at times we must break to then mend, or at least by true to ourselves.
Enjoyed the read my friend, thanks for sharing.

Sincerely
Rick
