To Be Me

The taste of copper
sift shake vibrate
still the minute seeks reason
then falls shaking into reality
cursed   a blessing

Take it out  take it out
weeps the minute
leave me not listing
a song is made from this
into lasting comment stretched
I can see how easy yet complex
one tiny breath
and so I take it   yes
again and again   to be me

Thank goodness (for everybody's sake) that you are you - and keep taking those breaths, as feistily as you do!

Yes, the simplest thing is complex (whilst the most complex thing is simple) and how good it is that you allow the minute to be so full that it stretches in song.

Dear Martie, God holds your identity safe, but how fragile those breaths must seem to you now, each a new gift, but he  knows perfectly how to maintain them and you.

I want to share this with my daughter.  She knows your struggle moment to moment. Her words ("it needs to be gone") Her breaths were for me as well, my miracle, too.  Like being re-born, the world begins anew.  Go slowly, Dear heart, if you can.

Your poem touches me deeply.

Love,
Karen

Martie, the e-mail program is down at the moment, but I will soon.

~  Hugs, Karen

P. S.  Her name is Lee Ellen, which means meadow light.  She is about your age.  Seems more than coincidence that you are the 'flower girl.'

A song is made from this...

~*~

Amazing what we listen to
when our heart beats out
a new song...

in fear, in light,
in fever bright,
a song, a song,
in heartbeat long.

Love you.

Dearest Martie,

With each and every breath you take
so goes on, this most magical spirit
that so enriches, and so enlightens,
and truly inspires

This special and wonderful spirit,
we have come to love so dearly.

This special and wonderful spirit,
that is you
