Stirring My Morning With A Stick

did you ever
really exist
or were you
a flower I dreamed up
petals that caressed
when caressed
an unseen  color
that lured you in
intoxicating elixir
that filled my lungs
veined pouring through
my body when awake
hours I have spent
with you on mind
missing what I didn’t have
wishing for more
living with a lie
of having the best
how can you
hold a vision
something I made up
in my mind
reaching into the fog
to find solid
I have given up
on less things
and gardens
are just dirt until
planted

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

"Stirring My Morning With A Stick"

I would steal that title but it is a poem in and of itself.

Helen, I LOVE everything about this.  I have always been moved, learned life lessons or have related to your poems, BUT this one is now my favourite....it's a keeper

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!
