5392 Sierra’s Love 12 May 2006 To whisper Sierra’s love in knowing Christ was there His heart, her soul the path for tomorrow To know she was true This light, this lamp a child’s hand small to hold A gentle touch, another to pamper daughters of Christ in pure heart Charily of love, an amour refined no one could remove what was there Birth to birth, dust to ashes scattered upon a birthright of the wind Treasure golden, sliver threads of light a mother’s breath, given life Strawberry shortcake the crust crisp to taste “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Corinthians 13: 8, 11, 13 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
