If I die before the dawn
Will the interest be gone
Will the debts I have built up
Dream of when my waking cup
Beckons me to heaven or hell
Which brokers carries the spell

Do I go for bricks and mortar
Does the bank hold my soul
Did I do
What I oarta
In my heart
O'h spell untold

Did I service my credit
Did I pay unto my soul
Was it identity I lost
Or just the words
I do behold

Am I laid in pauper's paradise
With my cards, cheques at my side
Do they burn me in Government
With Ministers
At my side

Did I launch the Church of England
Did I make sure
All ok
Did I reckon
On the Almighty
To pay interest
A better way

Well I'm alright
As spades clink
And bury me below
But I hear the bank's utterings
To raise me to a throw

But it's alright, it's alright
My cards are in my teeth
And the Guardian
Of the netherhells
Takes
American Express

now this
made me laugh
out loud
as I write out a check
for something I shouldn't have bought
long ago
and still
I am paying for it!
three times over

now, roll over little doggie
and pretend...
you didn't do it!

It wasn't me

It was my soul

I am pure

And in the whole

I disappear

Coins are bad

Reminting when standards lack

So with credit
There I go
Underneath

To banker's hole

Laughing in my coffin
while they try to suck
blood from this dying corpse
Loved this cute poem...
And the next time I shop I be sure to put it on credit....
