  She walks down the street
  cold and alone
  wishing she had someone
to say it was be alright
  your days will get better.

  The clouds heavy with rain
  a boy watches
  through a window
as she struggles to carry on
  and runs to her aid.

  The smile on her face
  made me feel warm
  when I took her hand
  guided her to shelter
  and spoke my name.

  That night
  I lay in bed
  thinking about her
  how I touched a life
and showed a bit of mine.

I think the last line says it all...Compassion, that's what it's all about.  Thanks for sharing.
