Today's a day for laughter
Cackling right out loud,
Make a person smile today,
Captivate a crowd.

They might look at you
And think you are quite odd,
Might tell you 'bout comedians,
Out looking for a job.

Make some faces-tell some jokes,
Be a clown for just one day,
You might cheer-up a "sad" someone,
Make some worries go away.

Sadly life won't always flow
Like the melody of song,
Admire the one that can still laugh
When everything goes wrong.

Smiles that are worth
More than anything on earth
Are the smiles that shine thru tears...

(Lady Chipmunk wrote me once and told me she took that last line with her all the time, that she read it everyday...I think she probably did..and, she truly smiled thru tears....I miss her..)

Thanks for writing this Toe...
I have been thinking about her too.  Isn't that a wonderful thing, to have touched so many people as she did!

Hugs,
TD

ToeMan~
You touch us all so tenderly with these words of recall~

And ... that smile was as adorable in person
as it ever was on the PiP boards~
I still have such fond memories of meeting Lyra/Chipmunker at the poets gathering in New Poet Richey ... she was SO HAPPY to be there ... and lifted our spirits with her attitude ... believe me she had a beautiful attitude~

Thank you for this ... thank you for being you~

What a great day this is - you remembering all our favorite poets.  She was a genuine nut case I can assure you that one!  Loved her to bits.  David will be glad to read she is remembered.  Nice sentiment and lovely poem Toe.

Smiles that are worth
More than anything on earth
Are the smiles that shine thru tears...

Amen. *S* And when they can be managed... they sometimes prevent still more tears. *S*

Your big heart is showing so beautifully today, Toeman... and yes... I miss her, too.

Toe, I came too late to enjoy Chipmunk. I have gone back to read some of her words. But you my friend I do remember from way back, and have always enjoyed your wit and your more serious side. best to you, martyjo

Thanks Toe for bringing back memories of my most precious Chipmunk.
I'm so blessed that I've met her at that wonderous poet meeting in New Port Richie. She was a special lady and a beautiful poet.

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Dear Big Toe,
I hope I die before you so I can be remembered here by you! I miss her too. Yup... you rock.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Toe, she was among the first to welcome me to the
big heart of the Passions In Poetry home. She
had such a way of making me feel welcome. There
are so many things that remind me of her. She
had a heart of pure gold.

You know what else? Right after I came here, I
got an email with a big old Toe wrapped up in
a rag!!! I wondered who it was that sent me that??
It didn't take me long to find out that you are
one of the nicest fellows I have ever met!!
You are so sweet, Toe. Thanks for being you!!
Heart Hugs,
Ethel
