Honestly True

02 May 2006

How did you know
if I thought of you
you were indeed there
Such thoughts, such manner
being honestly true

How did you know
your being was in a heart
Your understanding was
the Leah to my Rachel

The Jacob to my Abraham
a Daniel to my lions den
This ford to cross a river holden
a place of rolling stones
in a gathering of moss

How did you know
I could love you
for who you are

How each night of sleep
your heart was near by
and that your spirit was all
to hold, desire and never detest

“What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he
may see good? The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and
his ears are open unto their cry. The righteous cry, and the
LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.”
Psalms 34: 12, 15, 17 KJV
