4595 Destination of Soul 30 November 2005 This destination of two souls where the road was but one way to travel A place so scarred from past encounters this bump of yesterdays misgivings Just to know you were there next to me - yet deep inside For you were my heaven my tranquil being to ponder Your beauty was a retrospect of love no one could hold you in that same light Nothing was taken to a beginning Though journey delivered on a morning all those years ago Mother I love you and I am proud to be you son “Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Matthew 19: 19 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) (Ontarian Beauty: More Psalms 7, @Regina Publications, January 2006) a poet who cares |

A endearing write with which to honour your mother. Very touching, dear poet who cares. EA |

I honestly told me mother these words "I am proud to be you son" , some 40 minutes before I composed this poem, while I was prompted to write this poem, from reading of a poem written by a Canadian I also read this poem out at my mother's funeral in March 2006, and shared these words with Martie and Sunshine, before that day of my mother's funeral. When it is nice to have friendships and consider they are real, even if distance and meeting becomes the barrier to this life. a poet who cares |

It is so good you got to read this to her while she was still with you, Poet. What a beautiful tribute and you honor her. *hugs* |
