As I sit here wondering about all the friends I've had and I've lost through the years I reflect on a few that I thought Would always last. But somehow without realizing it I let them slip through the cracks of my life, To be left behind like some old photograph Faded and torn even the pictures In my mind are fuzzy and worn. I start to wonder how They got left behind Was I so busy with my life That I just pushed them aside Only to remember them to Late in Life...

We lose people both in a physical and mental sense
We have some idea of coping, planned and then we forget when we plan for emergencies
We always leave the emergency out of the plan
We survive because of a variety of things
Sometimes we dont, and sometimes we do
There will always, these days, be some Research Scientist or Politician looking for funding to be a TV Pundit to make money out of people
At the end of the day, you have, if you are lucky, two feet to stand on
Those who dont, often dont give up, but some with everything, think, they have nothing

Debo, I felt a bit nostalgic ~ and a bit guilty! ~ as I read your poem.
A moving write that got me reflecting on past friendships.

I've thought about this, too. Sometimes our life paths just aren't parallel. Maybe we don't leave anyone behind, as long as they're still in our hearts. Good write of thoughts so many of us have had!

Dear Debo,
A very poetic way to remind us of a sad truth.

We often feel this is how we have done things..it is the roads of life that we travel down in this life that seperates us from the people of the then and now...perhaps we will come full circle at a later time? maybe even beyond this mortal world?..Good thought provoking poetry..thank you..
