Garden Of Memories By Paul Wilson I’ve come here many times before for your birthday and other holidays The smile on your face when you see me coming…warms my heart always We sit together and I play memories for you… on the phonograph in your mind Where has everyone gone you ask friends we’ve known forever I can’t find You try not to cry but tears find escape from your eyes and fall like rain drops I take your hand and embrace your cheek until the river of tears from your eyes stops They are in that special place where flowers bloom all year and friends congregate It’s called the Garden Of Memories and soon you will walk thru it’s gate When will this happen… will you take me there you ask with a smile that makes my heart cry No I’m sorry you will have to go alone on this journey…today I’ve come to say goodbye We’ve taken many trips down memory lane together hand in hand side by side Today as I walked away from you I realized our time spent together will end soon and I cried I turned back for one last glimpse of you hoping you understand why I had to go This will be my last visit with you my love soon I’ll be with all the friends we know I’ll be waiting for you beside the gate that leads to that special place I’ll be waiting in the Garden Of Memories for you with tears streaming down my face ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |

Paul, A touching write. I've often thought of those that are gone and I still can't accept the totality of it. |
