Casting Thoughts

I linger between the words
through eyes that want to close
and fill the empty spaces with
a rekindling of you.

I study your face, trying
to read your thoughts
turning them into lyrics
to sing unto my heart...
sharing a sheerness
in the shadows of our minds.

I feel the pleasure,
the artistry of observations,
a mind's eye treat
as I view behind the glasses
an unconditional softness
to sway me into you.

So I write these words
and think these thoughts
(out of reach) wrapping them
around me to get me through
another night.

Yes, today I feel,
this evening I dream,
tomorrow I will live... the promises
that I keep.
