repost for a friend who I know will always remember

Waterfalls

Image hosting by Photobucket

I would drop my life right now
this very minute, all of it
just to see your face, your eyes
could always make me forget
the consequences of being me
damn, what a fool I've been
and you are all I long for now
one night of passionate sin

I weep for you to kiss me
like you've loved me for years
to breathe warm lies in my ear
let my breast catch your tears

waterfalls I give to you tonight
a desperate urge to give up the fight

and I would not mind losing the war
if I had one night to lose it for

I would walk away from all of it
let the chips fall where they may
just to have you in my hands right now
to draw you in my eyes of gray

then you would understand me
how much it hurts, what I'd let go;
to touch you from inside
to see what you could show
would give me back my faith in life...
the water falls for you, you know.

I know this... for what does it matter how long life stretches before us if there's no reason for living? *S*

Heart-touching write!!

This is absolutely lovely, Dixie - don't know how I missed it but glad to read it now.  Oh, and the ending was absolutely perfect.

For me, Darlin' Dixie, this is one of your most stirring love poems that I have read!

Loverly!

I enjoyed your write Dixie, and these two lines were just great, grabbed me right away. Soldier on my friend and take care.
