Stacked from heart to mind
are mementos of a time
when the step together, one, two, three,
of perfect harmony
balanced all the right and wrong
of times long past and gone ~
and now that too has disappeared
like morning dew and you
and I mourn this gaping chasm
of soul’s dark emptiness.

Reviled are the tears and yet they still appear
unbidden to the rims of a woman’s eyes
ready at a thought to plummet to the floor
and wash the river, me
into the sea of feel ~
and the shore can do nothing
but bear witness to it all.

And the sea as before
moves past the point of pain
steadily, resolvedly,
but tomorrow comes the rain,
waves rise up in dismay ~
and the sea can do nothing
but await a lowering.

When nothing can be done
and the sea and shore can’t love
there’ll come a time of barren land
where once emotion swam ~
and the spirits will do nothing
but say, “We told you so”.

I do actually understand this

It is a loss that never was ever thought to happen

Thoughts that melded melted

Life unfortunately

I hear you and I feel your pain.  I've been there and am struggling there right now.  You write well with great emotion coming through.  You have a real talent and I hope and pray that one day your poems may be light and hopeful.  Blessings to you.

Thank you, Dave - Yes, it is most definitely "life unfortunately".

Dixie - When something right is cast aside neither the living nor the supposedly dead can do a damn thing about it.

The Lady - thanks.  I guess the really important thing is how everything ends and not what's gone on in between.

Sheri - There's always light and other good things waiting around the corner.  Sometimes it takes a long time to turn the corner but I do know that the corner isn't going anywhere.  It will be there when I'm there!  Thank you for your concern.

Ride those waves, Helen. Eventually they will kiss the shore.

Sending you loving hug,

You know I understand so well what you have crafted here -- so sadly beautiful, this writing, Helen.   .......jo

Thanks Linda for the read - the waves sure do toss one about.

And jo - there's really nothing that can be done but "knowing" is such a comfort.  Thank you!

Yes, Helen, it's better to know, no matter how much it hurts.  Then one can move on from there.  Hope there is a beautiful view for you round that corner.

Thanks Diana - perhaps it's hard to ever know anything for sure but its the knowing and understanding that others have of circumstances that brings comfort.  Just wondering - if one moves from love where does one go to?
