Burning Away Your Memory By Paul Wilson
I’d burn away your memory but tears keep putting out the flame Life is getting harder to cope with my broken heart will never be the same
Falling star pulled from sky downward spiral to it’s demise Another day is dawning but in my life there’s no sunrise
I travel round in circle’s path looking for a road back to you Life has no directions to follow we just do the best we can do
My drug of choice is loneliness I’m addicted since you went away The circle of my existence always the same everyday
I’ve returned a thousand times to the past of me and you Memories of you I can’t find just an empty heart scarred by you
On tomorrows hope I will dream of someone I thought I knew My wish for today I will share with the one I still love… you
I wish your memory would set me free so that I may live again I wish that you still loved me and this loneliness would end
~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul

Paul, I was able to appreciate and enjoy your poem more knowing that it was "fictional".
You are such a gentle, graceful writer. YOur poetry reads so smoothly and never fails to touch this reader.
Happy spring! Linda
