Silence can be Golden when kept in its place. Silence can be deafening when met face to face. Silence can be deadly when allowed to rule. Silence can be lonely when improperly used. Secrets should be kept unless doing so harms another. Rumors should never be given the chance to flourish. Anger controlled by silence can be deadlier than poison Love should always be expressed, never suppressed Fear of rejection is the strongest ally of Silence. Jealousy breeds contempt and uses Silence to corrupt. Silence can be a powerful ally to the one who respects it. It can be peaceful and relaxing in the right situations. It can bring death to a rumor and breathe life into a love. It can foster peace where strife once lived with the suppression of pride. Silence can be a powerful enemy to the one who abuses it. It can destroy a relationship where apologies are never heard. It can break a heart into pieces when love is not expressed. It can destroy life itself when it stifles the cries of the broken. Wherever you find a lonely, bitter old man… You will find Silence within him Wherever you find a suicide note, You will find Silence the author. Whenever you find a bitter divorce, Silence will be the lawyer Wherever you find fatherless children Silence bears their names Written May 2, 2005 by Lyn Eagleton |
