Sharon

I searched for my words,
those of first thoughts,
but couldn't find them,
wanting to honor you
(with last thoughts)
before taking them to sleep.

They have been silenced in mind,
as your voice was in real,
with only the whispers of understanding
between us.

What do you say
when another has left this world
so unexpectedly, even though...
The call, another one
putting me on standby, waiting,
wondering why I am so civilized
at the news.

I can't find you,
my admiration in words,
of someone who battled for years,
making my small struggles
insignificant.

My last visit
ending in uncontrollable tears,
driving home for hours
feeling exhausted from the caring
and the caring of...

It seems like yesterday,
and now... there will be no tomorrow

Thank you Eric. My sister-in-law passed away yesterday morning.

A few years ago after we met, I wrote a poem about the strength she had for having been paralyzed and without a voice for so many years.
My brother married Sharon about 7 years ago.(She had a stroke from birth control pills over 20 years ago)
I searched for hours last evening and this morning for the poem  and  couldn't find it.

And this was the best I could do for now~~

Seven years is so little time for love...and yet still better than not at all.

Thank you... it all happened so fast and unexpectedly and because of the Easter holiday the funeral plans are for tomorrow and I can't be there.

Thank you again, for your warm thoughts.

Tears and hugs and empathy for you and all who those who were in her life.  Only those who have lost one to death can know how it feels, and then we all react to it differently so I am not pretending that I know how you feel exactly, but when I hear of a pipster losing someone, I relive the anguish of my own loss to death and I am hurting along with you, in my small way from across the seas.

My sincere condolences to you too, Maureen.  It is always such a sad time in anyone's life and perhaps more sad in this instance because of the circumstances.  My best to you.

Thank you all, again. For some reason my mind is a blank when trying to find the poem I wrote for Sharon after meeting her and  thinking how wonderful she was and I tried all the words that would make the search easier but I still couldn't find it.

I couldn't make the funeral in time but was told by my mother how beautiful and at peace she looked. She really was an angel, here on earth.

Maureen, I have been struggling to respond to this, as I know what "unexpected timing" is, and how deeply we are hit.  So, I've been silently holding you in my thoughts. My heart is with you.

I had to get back to your beautiful tribute to your sister-in-law as I know how unexpected death can turn a person's world upside down.  The main thing I think we learn from this is to treasure them and every single moment we have ourselves.  We learn to   let the small "stuff" go, and get on with living life as it is intended, to the fullest.  If that is not the purpose of these heartaches I don't know what is.

I am so sorry for your family's loss yet again Maureen, and know all to well how time is needed especially with a death over the holidays.  Do take care of you and yours.  May the miracle of Easter remind you always of your loved one.
