She burned like cheap whiskey
bittersweet in her jaunt
tantalizing each sweet note
her lips
carved out a story
that only the wicked could understand
auburn with hints of gold, she was
nothing like Ginger Rogers
maybe a bit Monroe
her style
stolen from elegance
escaped with each flick of her hips
each click of her heels
until a melted pool of man
surrounded her feet
she knew what she had

30 years later
and the devil still inside
laughter
raspy with age
spitting out her sweet notes
and the hips are a little rusty
catching with each step
hobbling with each move
no pools at her feet
but she still burns like cheap whiskey

This is an incredible poem! You capture your subject and your readers with awsesome eloquence and word paint.  A joy to read.

Thank you Klassy and Inked...I am not quite sure what or who I was thinking of when I wrote this but I am so glad that the subject came across well...
