Tossing sticks into the river
Styx.

Some days my thoughts, my life,
seem to dwell in
Hell.

Forceful rising waters
rush tempestuously over me,
pushing me away
from the saving seas
of peace, serenity, tranquility,
leaving me adrift with
my own morbid sensibility,
bereft of any spiritually visual acuity,
dry as a thirsty body's bone
at high-noon in the Mojave or Negev.

"My God, oh, my God.
Why hast thou forsaken me?"

I didn’t offer up these words today,
for they were from another’s mindset.
But in my darkest hours
I’ve whispered much the same,
and it's only when I am
nearly totally drowned, beyond hope,
that I get a reply,
when you tell me.

"Don’t ask why.
It's just the way
I do things."

Oh, Kacy, I was moved to my very core with your words.

Your ending came as a surprise! lol Well, He IS the man! ~ I mean God! ...and His intentions are ALWAYS good! It just may not appear that way at times.

Hugs with love,

Hugs, hugs and more hugs.

I think what it is, is that you wring every last little bit of your spirit out in helping so many people and animals that you don't leave any for yourself.  By not appearing to be answering you, perhaps God is telling you not to burn yourself out and to look after yourself as well - and to regard yourself as every bit as important as all those you help.

Yet more hugs - wingfuls of them
