Again
Now cautiously
The calendar approaches
The day you were born

A smooth stone
In the lawn
Surrounded by flowers

Cool with a tint of blue
Under the shadows
Of a nearby tree

You would hope by now
Even the unconsciousness
With practiced indifference
Would pass without comment
Too busy to notice or pause

And yet that stillness
Begins to fill the evening hours

Dawn comes with mists
Mysteriously lingering
As if looking for someone
Who isn’t there

I envy your ability to write of that connection to that place of wordless bliss.

Much enjoyed this John.

You should bottle this stuff.
