blue sky touched down distant kisses soft on green mountains billowing thoughts climbed against the cloud pillows promising afternoon rain the highway hummed beneath hubs spinning over anxious rubber and me, perplexed peering for a wedding hour nearing, I wanted flowers white blooms to stay his Perseus gaze upon her blush of cheek her glory crowning pink promises to smile their mornings... rain spatter, a smattering good for the garden, worried at my windshield to threaten outdoor vows but, for pleading prayers an omen, please God, now heaven knows to stem the tides of raging sea bless lives abundantly a distant kiss in cerulean blue, grew tender over the mountains' hue... outlined glows, silver spent budding petals luminous bent...a cumulus rose ~ Klassy Lassy ~ March 14, 2006 [This message has been edited by Klassy Lassy (03-14-2006 05:57 PM).] |

I was looking for rose buds two hours before my niece married this last Saturday. I found exquisitely blushed white mini roses, which we put in her hair at the last minute. Since the ceremony was outside, I prayed it would not rain. Hopeless romantic that I am, I couldn't help noticing the billowing clouds illumined by the sun, but what stunned me was a towering cumulous cloud sculpted and shadowed like a rose bud directly in front of me as I drove down the highway to a nearby town in search of the flowers I wanted. Sometimes we get more than we ask for! |

Very beautiful, Klassy. Thank you for sharing. “We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” –Robert Louis Stevenson |

Klassy As I was a florist for many years, I understand the problems of an outdoor wedding. The thing to remember is that flowers like the rain, it's the people that don't. I enjoyed the beautiful picture you sent with your poem. |

Karen~ The soft 'worried' beauty of your thoughts seemed to flow so effortlessly~ But this - 'rain spatter, a smattering good for the garden, worried at my windshield' - just drew it complete for me~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Very touching, without being "squishy." ...but this verse: "the highway hummed beneath hubs spinning over anxious rubber" took me to a place far removed from weddings and the joy found in the illusions of love. The mind is a funny thing; thanks. |

El Campeador, thank you... it's nice to meet you! Enchantress, her wedding was a day of firsts, her first time ever to dance with her husband, the first time she ever took her dads' arms--both of them, the first time she's ever had a family welcome her openly. It was beautiful. Martie, thank you for your addition to "the picture". Flowers do love rain. Most Oregonians don't mind it, either. Being winter here yet, we were happy to see that sun! The white mini roses were perfect. Marge, I'm so pleased you liked this poem. I hope my niece likes it, too. Hugs! Lee J, opulent moments made a poetic afternoon and I hope they share many more. You, too, dear heart! Icebox, Thank you for stopping by. Now that you mention it, those words take me other places besides weddings, too. You comment is very astute...You are welcome, anytime. |
