where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2006-03-10 12:50 PM

Note - I promise I'll get to commenting on poems soon! I'm posting this with little time.

----------------------------------------------

Swinging,
mid winter
in the park,
  vacantly
staring at the abyss before me,
the cold wind
sifts through my hair
as if to own me.
This day
will not end...

   I tire
of watching the sun's
fruitless attempts at escaping
the somehow calm grip of the clouds..

So silently
I retreat
in to my void and
dim, souless
body, my
hollow shell...
Before me,
your ashes  rise
and I recall these memories like dreams
that have persuaded me to stay...
     by your side
the bones bend
  but never break..
the pain must not end...

...and through
all of my begging
    my pleading,
my lips merely
become dry..

it is on this day
that I realize
words
are merely noise
    and nothing more,
I will not attempt
   to speak or clarify..

I will stare
  into my evernight
shell,
  and be grateful for it

even if it kills me.

I can only nod with understanding, meg.

It's a very strange mental state to be in, so have my love and hugs too.

Oh yes....and that swing, it's most definitely worth a cold rump, to experience it!

I found that to be paradoxically very lovely actually.

I've been known to do this.....
More than a few times.

Feeling for and with you in the sad brushstrokes of your pain.  I wish you strength, courage, and the eyes to draw comfort from a tiny vermilion wild flower growing on a mountainside and radiating sunshine.

I just hate it when someone has the power to turn me into a shadow.  My eyes sting reading this, the ache is so sharp.  I feel the bones bending, yet hanging onto the pain.  With no words to be heard, it all seems so futile.

I have felt this more often than I care to remember.  A dark write...well done!

i know that feeling of wanting to crawl into
the shell, and glad that something is there to catch me

A dark, moody thing, this. At least a bit of a glimmer of hope in the end, I hope?
