Was it not good However crudely made To eat ones bread In an open field Free and proud To face the sun To love the light And warmth it gave To minds no longer chained Man turns to dust And less more than soon enough The wheel goes round Yet never finds Those it left behind Was it not good In what little time we had To stride the road Into our fate |
