Onto thine lips the call of life is traced, With passion’s pen that inks eternal tie Awaiting; for ‘tis there the call is placed For love to rise to live or fall to die. For ‘tis the lips that seek the hidden key Of love’s cryptic lock; the lips but a gate To the garden of thine heart; this a plea To taste sweet-scented calling of our fate - So light thine eyes, and etch with crimson ink The deed that dormant lies within thy heart; And let mine prove a shrine for thine and link Thy soul to mine in single spirit part: But should my heart to thee unworthy prove, Forever it shall seal its lock of love.
