My Door Step I kneel upon my doorstep stone In mental heaves and keeping score Making keys that I have grown To open please this mental door Symbols shaped in different keys All fit the lock but do not turn And time has placed me on my knees In weary that I cannot learn I’ve watched the rainbows of white light The butterflies that rest in still I’ve watched the stars come out at night Yet still I cannot find the skill I’ve now been swallowed by the whale No longer can I see the bend Just praying in the black of sail And waiting for a timely end Perhaps the whale will find the core And take me to forevermore |
