On the sidelines of my dreams I rest while the orchestra of memory seems to play from deeper in the mists than I choose to see, among fugues and nocturnes floating endlessly, though never written down as shibbolethic phrases; your’s is the need for adoration with supporting dialogue selectively chosen, woven loosely left untied, living twisted thoughts stepping on each other’s threads like shekels melted to each other, left neglected in the fires of an empty soul seared on craven coals of ego’s lost desires; I feel your struggles tangled in the netting of endless naked need for praise and worship, poorly phrased in broken stolen thoughts so badly shaded, parched and cracked, and by far too many times translated. ©2005 by icebox |

Alas, alas, I know it's true of me-- "Worship me, dammit--now go away!" (I've been told I could get paid good money for the attitude alone.) I've missed you though, dawlin'. Sometimes I suspect you write on sandpaper, but then, it works out fine for me, with all my rough edges. |

icebox "stepping on each other’s threads like shekels melted to each other," I'm probably wrong, but this sounds like it could be fun. |

Couldn't help but think of famous divas when I read this. But then I read it again, and began to think about it alot. It seems so true of most women of my generation, that we were reared in such a fashion, to seek approval. Your description of this from a metaphysical standpoint is, for lack of a better word, stunning! ....jo |

interesting title & write poet sir...much to absorb here and even more to read between the lines me thinks... we each take away our own insights from reading poetry...often not even close to what the poet intended..but thats the beauty & burden of the written word.. as I read this, the old Carly Simon song came to mind--"your so vain( you probably think this song is about you) and also it reminded me of when I first joined pips, all wide eyed and naive, eagerly praising and worshiping, and some of the laureates warned me of the poets ego, both the fragile and the insationable... I couldnt understand their jaded views then... but I do now.... thanks for this view from your eyes. I'll bare the brunt of your long buried pain |

I understand this much better than I want to. As I told another friend recently, it is Visibility Minus sometimes -- when there's no possibility of looking outward through that fog (or there's no point in trying), and the only possiblity of vision lies within. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> ______________Ratleader______________ |
