I stand here watching the people come and go drying eyes laughing to themselves about some distant memory touching hands hugs kisses on wet cheeks the older ones seem to take this easiest as they pass from the parlor into the entry hall they all look at me I glance at the floor letting the tiny drops of love slide from the end of my nose I hear them whispering I know what they are saying "Thats Chris, the other one, the one that left..," "The one that left??" From some a smile others a little wave some come over to hug me some just walk on by (I appreciate them the most) I wait till every one has gone and step into the parlor... Again, I think "you"s instead of "I"'s would make this stronger John |

Chris, This is a very heart felt poem for whom ever you lost just know they are looking down saying in their own way they love you and miss you and of most importance thank you for their own memories of the time they had with you. Lots of prayers are sent your way in your time of sorrow. Danie |

CM...You've written a potent and realistic scene. The feelings come through loud and clear. |

john, martie, danie, P.W.C, thank you all...I promise this is the last one for a while like this...well, for a little while anyway. OH, and John, I see what you mean about the you's and I's but...it's not about the "you" it's about the "I" and the way "I" was feeling at that moment in my life...however, it does get the reader a bit more involved if they paint themselves into my picture. Thank you again for you input, it is very very very much appreciated. Never be a carbon copy of anybody...make your own impressions. - ANON. |

I feel this fine with the "I's"... another ache...another wonderful write.. And like Marge, I would be one of the ones who need to hug you-- take care friend! hugs, g "We of the craft are all crazy...all are more or less touched." Lord Byron |
