I stand here
staring
at the flat marble stone
watching the raindrops
slide down your name
  the dates...
flowers piled high
all around you...

I think to myself...
  he'd hate this
he was never much on flowers

I came here to talk to you
to tell you everything I
ever felt I left unsaid...
But now I just stand here
and let the tears flow
freely down my face

I cant talk to a stone..

I feel a warmth
that makes me feel like,
maybe you understand...

I hope you do...

Dad, I love you...

Dear Christopher, this made me just cry together with you. Extremely poignant, sadly beautiful and yes, I do not doubt, that your Dad understands and knows everything you wanted to say.

Love,
Margherita

Just...talk.  Think silently if you have to.

He hears you.

Always did.

Always will.

You know that this poem has touched many of
us...Many who share a common bond...and the
sheer reality of it all is you always leave
something out that you wish you had said
before they left us...I still wait for the
phone to ring,  I still hear his voice,  I
still see his smile and so very much more.

Thank You,  thank you very much...

Oh Christopher...this one really..really gets me..I've stood at my own Father's stone in the cold and the rain..just standing there...

I have to believe my Father knew..all those things I left unsaid..I'm sure yours did too..

Nice write--good to "sift"..

hugs, g
