A misfit in my own world I am undefined by the firelight It’s flickering light tells me. Who am I meant to be? Original name un-original clothes My style is not shiny my body not perfectly composed No dramatic labels A blue flicker Lighting up a porcelain face She is outstanding Is that who I want to be? I have only compromise Sickness lines my organs ashamed by me un-found in my own skin rejecting red shirt, blue shirt and green shirt my room doesn’t even stand still a private mockery hiding within melancholy clothes folded between rainbow laundry a faded eclectic collection sick of nick-nacks Do I start from the beginning? Ending unclear should white cover my walls, with splashes of colour? I am not any different But I am not the same. |

I like the title of this poem, it fits the body of work perfectly. You write well of the pain of being different - and yet it's that difference that gives you abilty/talent to articulate those feelings. You are indeed a poet my friend. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
