Listening to every heart

0 posted 2005-09-04 05:25 PM

Exodus

Roger Williams hit those keys
then music strangled me; I trembled
vibrating at simplicity’s note

and the escape

of a long ago multitude…

Decades passed,
blonde and freckles gave way
to now, here, again,
it could be any, but this
given day, a Sunday…a day
of rest

it returns, randomly, jetting its
strong main, purposely
coursing my blood, again…

and all in the tempest,
flooding this soul.

It begs a question,
where next, Lord,
do my knees rest

to pray?

Sissie....I feel the surge of passion in this....too hard to hold it is so big.  As for prayer, any where, even not on your knees, when your heart is there.

So deep and lovely. I enjoyed this exodus into your soul! This should have more replies! Go up!

Very good write, dearest!

Captivating. A pleasure to read and mentally digest.

Being spiritual rather than religious, I generally don't pray. But even I've been saying an awful lot of prayers this past week.

A pleasure to read you again Karilea

You can rest those knees anywhere, Karilea. God will hear you wherever you are.

God can hear what is in our hearts when we are unable to pray...

Have to go along with Marge, SIL.....anywhere....anytime....anyhow.  Being on your knees is a state of mind.  Library clicked.   ....jo

Roger Williams....member of my church, and sometimes we get a very pleasant surprise on Sunday morning.....

For reasons that are personal to me, this response....making it at all tonight....required a certain level of prayer. I'm glad there was such a poem as this, to help me.

It doesn't take a box, whether of wood or metal or glass......doesn't even take knees....as you know....

That guy's music is something beyond... Has to be pushing eighty by now, but when he sits at that keyboard, he's twenty-five....and his music is timeless.

Interesting place, that church -- the one on TV....it could seat the whole congregation of my first church on the front row (back row, more likely -- we were Methodists)....all that metal, all that glass, but somehow you don't feel small when you enter, you feel a bit larger than you were out in the parking lot.

Where next? Is such a wonderful contemplation. It warms me and thrills me, so thank you for writing this.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
