damaged fatty sheath

old friend
rising hitherto
dismantle belongings to the
unholy bowels of the world
incredible memory,
you holds its breath
did your instincts prompt me
that cloggy feel,
blinding my mind?
where sounds can hear nothing
oh melancholy darkness
still running to the left
holding a candle above my head
cursing my foothold
pit water smells,
mock my long damp pages
where curiosity echoes
like thunder in the twilight
driving me headlong into depth
the mouth of life, whispering
while stooping forward headlong,
into
earth light,
thus agony whales
like invisible mysteries
dwelling on
the face of a clock,
calculating a threshold
of an inner story,
yet to unfold
yea,
i promise
nothing
but tears around the moon
and the tiny hamlet of intervals
times of waiting
noise in the night
luminous specks
footsteps in our garden
finding handsome things
with beautiful connotations
like an evening tide,
free from its shell
musical gestures
wetting my dry lips
pressing into my bone
comprehensible stars,
upended on the beach
where my body drifts
like the house
that built it that way
mystical kidnapper!
on the leeward side
of some sparkling reef
clear, fresh
licking my skin
water falls of warm mist
holding a suitcase
“where will you go?”
I insist
the compass is irrefutable
and i feel that connection
running white waters
down my cheek
responsibility having
so many cold stares
pushing the throttle wide open
the rain is fair
and emerald green
foaming so thick
turning electric foam
across my nakedness
and lost memories
cool ocean realizes
my impossibilities
quarter-sized
hallway mirrors
cover my flesh
when a part of you leaves
you realize what you’ve missed
growing up behind the front door
of knee high stockings
delicately soaking
in the bright stars
of never-ending voice
growing bigger and bigger
like great landscaped yards
under the moon
counting my breath,
between sight and sound
and in this, I hear storms
moaning…”gentle now lassie
you shouldn’t be alone”
while tugging on
my arm
I continue to roll
in the grasses
of direct sunlight,
squeezing the moments
without looking away
the silence is long,
but i know
i’ve got a lover
to whom i can tell
everything
i’m aware crickets have replaced
the cicadas metrical whirl
that’s the way I remember things
before I was born
funny to think
of ivory soap now
in this chorus of moments
where I look
under the blue street lights
in winter,
monogamous with flesh
& the vortex
of a time-displaced thief
surviving wars which rage
and some photos I may never see
yet a gift intent on another instance
jumps out awkwardly in front of me
the suspension of a smile
and its interstellar setting
pulls me off the shelf
into some cosmic destiny
with a rather
savvy foreswearing echo
of greater truths & visions
breathing life
and intimate details
like solar flexes
of some “voice of knowledge”
and the prophecy among us which
always breaks through the pain
with ebony scented antiseptic
I defy fiction to come alive!
with a melodramatic skirt
filling the memory
of my crippled fingers
until finding my hometown

I suggest we walk,
no longer imitating sleep
we paint gentle watercolors
processing spiritual vein
where the hot days of summer
stitch together
my cold and soulless wind
I hear the drumming of assemblage
hypnotizing prose
rejuvenating cozy insulation
around my nerves
Alas
I am a product of little mercies
of dead flesh and blood spilled
yet, tonight I sleep
tonight I dream
while pondering what it was
that so rarely blessed me…
I know your face sprawled below my feet
the warmth of your ocean,
and the hawthorn tree
with side blood rims…
and a workbench
that stopped
to take a look at me….

LeeJ
And you said this all in one breath,
remarkable. Good morning sweet.

There is such an abundance of poetic wonders here, dear Lee!

Had to do some research on "fatty sheath ..."

Love,

WOW…
Lee J, such passion in your poetry.  This is a work of art, the entire write, but this last verse puts it all into perspective.  You ARE special.

Ten words so vivid!  You have such a knack for description!  It's descriptive, yet invites each person to make his own independent interpretation.  This talent I envy!

   Have a great weekend, LeeJ.
