Everyone was there Somewhere There were people everywhere Scattered… “He’s not here” She turns toward the voice It sounded so much like her own “He’s here…” she says Lacking assurance in her voice “He’s not here” The voice calmly states again “But everyone is here!” says she Her eyes dart from space to space Suddenly the room seems empty… Where is he…? Panic sinks into her chest Where! She involuntarily inhales, deep, and quick-- He’s not here… He’s not… Had he not called for her to come?
