Dissolving Myself

There are leftovers of me
searching for the recipe
that best fits,
not wanting to dissolve
into wishful thinking
or the moistures that
trail down cheeks, tired
of the trying times.

I once had a place
in someone's heart
where I came first
and my words were known
before being spoken.
Where doubts
belonged in someone else's dictionary
and I was my own guardian angel
providing happiness
to all.

The day after
always leaves me selfish,
insanely searching
the inner core of me,
afraid to cross the threshold
of tomorrow, where
my dream catchers hang above,
years in the waiting.

I am dissolving that part of me,
because it no longer exists today
and I shall fall back to the in between
where neither here nor there
can touch me,
for now.

Susan, the good is gone in my life and nothing will ever compare or surpass what was. From now on everything "just is".
