Wintry Footprints

Though the path is worn and old
and dreamy vine clutter evergreen bold.
I will not abandon that path,
despite the weeds and mossy mold.
For in that one short while I was with you,
your love, conquered my soul…

I am trapped by your smile
your kindness and giving,
your ardent expression for love,
and insistent stance for living…

If I could hold you, just once more,
wrapping my arms around you,
holding you tight, I know,
I would not be here retracing,
frozen footprints
in the snow…

tender and poignant
and I'm wondering
if snow prints are a bit like sand prints?
for I have left behind a few of those
and also followed a few, and they always disappear...but maybe, just maybe
they have re-appeared somewhere in the snow,
where I was not looking?

This poetic tempo - impeccable.  I really enjoyed reading these last few lines.

JL, sending a hug, though I know it's not the one you want.  The way I see it, every hug helps on that wintry walk.

Happy New Year

Oh yes.  This says so much.
