This is for the guy who reads
me, not so religiously
but tells me I am genius
"because" he says, "because"
he sees
my tears before they do begin
clouds within a pupil dim
and distances are measurements
rulers are the gods of sky
and goddesses, recipients,
as I propose hypothesis:
"There, but for the grace, go I..."

Mathematics
Sciences
cunning linguists
and lies
are history on the page.

Formulatic
chaos is
a rubick's cube
of all sides same--
disregard the coloring
twist the squares
maintain a fist
remember that the first one is

later to be last...and laugh

  indenting all the paragraphs
when you must explain the path
of a right-turn-left-turn twist
(and don't forget the upside-down)

This is for the guy who reads
nothing up my sleeve
y'see?
I'm a genius, genuine--
wanna buy some property?
(I could sell you New Orleans)
for a pittance
if we had
pittances as an exchange--
and geniuses are all deranged

but I'm guessing you knew that-

A guess? I cackle--"genius!"
Never ask a question that
you don't know the answer to...

(and yes, I knew that too.)

how bout poetic genius

Thru the water...thru the rain
To the soul of everything
Throw my heart out on the stones
And I'm almost gone

Ok, ok, since this was for a guy,

Only two men come to mind, three actually . . .

Bob Dylan (he knows where ya are, where ya been and maybe not where you are going)

A viking (a mad one, at that, whose ship is always docked at your port, m'Lady)

A yeti (who shares your heart and mind and part of your spirit)

The reason Dylan came to mind is because whenever I listen to Dylan, man, he makes me see myself and I don't always like that but its needed.  He reaches right in and grabs ya, shakes ya awake and says Listen!  I just have ta say this one thing . . .

"Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'."

I see the connection, Little wing....

A poem like this can only come out of adversity, from one who has met its challenge...has bobbed to the surface, and came out swinging her pen.

One who knew if she didn't start "swimmin'  ", that she would "sink like a stone..."
As Dylan pointed out, earlier in his poem/song.

This reply is from a guy...(probably not as well as the one of which you speak...) that always reads you...

Sheesh I thougth for sure it was God himself!  Being off the wall in a sort of perplex sort of way, I started singing, "Amazing Grace" but yes I do know who Dylan is.  I know, I know, I'm cute right?

You do amaze me though - that coffee of yours and a pen - whew - what a combination!  You sort of have to "splain" this one to me, but I liked it!

Serenity...Very disguising poem.
Sometimes we become the poem we write
and somtime the poem becomes us without even knowing it.

There is a lot of genius in your poetry
mixed with a little magic sometime, which keeps the reader intrigued and trying to figure you out, which is what I like most about your poetry...Enjoyed very much...Paul

oh...

I hope I am not so difficult to understand.

That thought kind of amplifies my loneliness.

sheesh

I thought I was being playful--wince--no???

the rubick's cube? sigh...it's just a formula yanno. Anyone can learn it.

The trick is to just follow the formula--wince again--it's mathy stuff I can't explain.

Thank you all for reading me--
I know I am perplexity
and no it's not deliberate
it's simply my equivilent
of y times o and integers
are lives within parenthesis
and those they must be solved at first
before there's sum lucidity...

?

I thank you all.

Damn.

I did it, yet again.

I should take to clouds.

"and what's in the parenthesis' is what must be solved first.." is exactly what I was thinking as I read it!  (in the reply).

Sometimes, I do get it!!!

Love you lady.

And your words sing a timeless song which
reach into the very marrow of the human skull.

Left or right brained, this is a marvelous write.
Enjoyed.

One of my favorites!  It is so truly you, at least the you I know (all of them are, but this one is so personal, like you are face to face with God, or perhaps, the counterpart of you).  And, of course, your "Erma" is shinning right through.   ....jo
