where the wild flowers grow

Tonight, when you turned your head away,
and professed your shame in me,
I recalled such inadequate conversations
between us,
the memories swept away by cool,
bitter winds.. I wish I could
love you again...

..the way things were before
crush me like distant weights,
miserable tears that won't go away..and I try
to not be
weak, just for you..

just
for
you.

I have put
a black shroud
around me, to
protect me from
your audacity..
I
try
to understand..to no avail..

why

why

do you not love me?
Why

do you feel I am so
insignificant
when I love you?

I wish
that my memories would form together
into a solution..something
that could make you feel
happiness,
warmth,

compassionate...I
cannot change you now..cannot
help you if
you don't want me to..
I watch you look in apathy
at the snow flakes formed across the backyard
where
we smoke together
fight together
         so that
  I
     don't embarass you

I touch your shoulder, my hand
cries in distress..
it is wrong
    wrong
that you haven't earned my comfort
but my shriveled words of love
my wrinkled mind
closed off forever..

my silence

my death.

Yanno? It actually hurt me to read this. Would that I could, reverse this to bliss.

Dammit, megs. I'm wincing, remembering, 'cause I have been there, and I hope you get outta there soon.

Isn't it phenominal how sadness inspires poetic beauty?
You have captured the hurt here so well and are a far stronger person through the recognition. Comes in time!

I know the coldness of this kind of rejection and confusion.

I promise you, when you get out from under this, you will become a you that you only dreamed of.

and here, you encompass my thoughts exactly as I wrote of pain in another time and place, another write.
